In the decade prior to joining Value Capture, José Bustillo served as Senior Sensei and Executive Coach for clients throughout the healthcare industry. Accomplishments Mr. Bustillo’s partners achieved include:  25% length of stay reduction; 40% readmission rate reduction; 30% average cost per case reduction; 20% patient and physician satisfaction improvement; and, reduction of Emergency Department admission waiting time by 95%.

Before working with healthcare clients, Mr. Bustillo worked in Manufacturing Operations in various management positions, where he successfully led multiple transformations within multiple plants located in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, El Salvador, and Dominican Republic.

Well-known for system-wide Lean deployments, Mr. Bustillo was recognized as a sensei to ThedaCare, Inc., by Kim Barnas in her book, Beyond Heroes, for his counsel in ThedaCare’s Lean transformation.  

Earlier in his career, Mr. Bustillo was mentored by Clyde Haugan from Kaizen Institute.

Mr. Bustillo is passionate about developing people at all levels to create lasting change in processes and outcomes.
